If you answered yes to one or more questions,
we need county wide animal control
1)What do you think Wayne County citizens should do to change the way companion animals
roam ourstreets?
2)For humane purposes and health related issues such as rabies and dog bites,  should County
Officials create laws to protect citizens from companion animals running at large around the county?
3)As a citizen of  Wayne County do you feel paying seven dollars ($7.00) per year is a reasonable
amount to help budget animal control within your county? If not, what do you feel  a reasonable
amount per year would be?
4a) Many communities across the nation have succeeded with licensing laws in and outside of city
limits to help budget animal control as well as documenting the animals roaming our streets and
holding pet owners accountable.  Do you feel this would be a good idea for Wayne County?
No
Yes
If yes skip to question number 6 and 7
5) If not  why do you feel it is not a good idea?
6) If you do agree, do you think it's reasonable for pet owners to pay an annual license fee of
twelve dollars ($12.
00 )  if the pet is not spayed or neutered?
7) Do you think it's reasonable for  pet owners to pay an annual license fee of three ($3.00) dollars
for each spayed or neutered pet?
8) For the many pet owners who get their pets spayed, neutered and vaccinated, there have been
those who have lost their certificates and  tags are quite often lost as well.  Micro chipping a pet
so all the information travels with the pet, would be beneficial in aiding animal control officers or
rescue workers to reunite pets and owners.  Is a micro chip implant something you may consider
for your pet if made available to you?
Yes
No
9)Knowing now what you did not know before, do you feel Wayne County needs a shelter and
stricter animal control enforcement to reduce the overpopulation of companion animals and
to reduce the number of dogs roaming our streets? Feel free to make a comment
Survey for County Wide Animal Control
Hopefully you have read the  facts and opinion page of our website and the article in the
Wayne County News about the three cities  pounds.  Perhaps you now have a better
understanding as to why the city closed the pound but with the same token acknowledge
we urgently need some form of strict animal control in Wayne County. To  better relate to
the needs of the community and the desire for enforcement of animal control,   be it run
and funded by the three cities with the assistance of the county or it be run by a non-profit
rescue organization, needless to say this is definitely  another necessity that comes with
a price. So we will be better able to come up with some type of a budget and proposal for
a county wide shelter we ask if you would please take a few minutes to complete this
survey. The results of this survey will be based on the total of 3,500 participants
